Argentine police arrest stepfather after pregnant 10-year-old reaches hospital
Police in Argentina arrested a 33-year-old man after a 10-year-old girl taken to hospital with stomach pain was found to be six months pregnant.
Police in Argentina arrested a 33-year-old man after a 10-year-old girl taken to hospital with stomach pain was found to be six months pregnant.
The anonymous 10-year-old victim was told by medics in Santiago de Estero, Argentina she was in an advanced state of pregnancy.
Suspicions were aroused when her mother mentioned to doctors her daughter had not had a period in some time.
Police sources told InfoBae the daughter had sexual relations with her stepfather, at the family home in El Bacho.
Officers arrested the 33-year-old suspect at his home, where they also seized his mobile phone.
Speaking to local media, the victim’s grandmother said she had warned her daughter of the danger of leaving the little girl alone with her stepfather.

She told Noticiero 7 that she had advised that the man, who had met her daughter over the phone, could not be trusted.
The grandmother added that she herself had been sexually abused when she was eight years old.
The revelation also shocked the girl’s teacher at school, who said the victim had never mentioned any pain or issues with her stepfather.
‘She’s a quiet girl, she does her homework… I’ve never noticed any strange behaviour from her, nor has she ever had a meltdown’, she said.
